1. Introduction & Scope
ZakatSimple ("we", "our", or "the Platform"), founded by H M Jubair Alam under the Islamic Digital Initiative, is committed to upholding the highest standards of digital ethics, user privacy, and religious sanctity. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding user information when you visit zakat-simple.truxio.bond or any associated domains.
2. Financial Calculations: 100% Client-Side Execution
Unlike conventional cloud-based accounting and tax applications, ZakatSimple is architected as a purely client-side web application:
- No Database of Wealth: We do not operate an external database that records user balances, cash savings, gold jewelry weights, or investment portfolios.
- No Server-Side Transmission: When you type numbers into any calculation field, those figures remain in the local memory of your web browser. No API calls or background network requests containing your entered figures are sent to any server.
- Optional Browser Local Storage: If you explicitly click the "Save" button on the calculator, the data is serialized into your browser's private
localStoragecontainer. This data never leaves your device. You can completely erase it at any moment by clicking "Clear All Data" or clearing your browser cache. - Print Statement Generation: When you generate a printable Zakat statement or save as PDF, the formatting occurs natively in your browser through standard CSS
@media printrules. No documents are transmitted externally.
3. Third-Party Advertising & Halal Ad Network Disclosures
To ensure that ZakatSimple remains completely free, open-access, and sustainable without requiring user subscription fees or donation commissions, we may partner with ethical third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense and HalalSpark.
We strictly require our ad serving partners to comply with our religious code of ethics: interest-based banking (Riba), gambling, alcohol, adult content, tobacco, and deceptive financial schemes are strictly prohibited.
In accordance with advertising network compliance guidelines:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our website or other websites on the internet.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.
4. Cookies & Web Analytics
We may use minimal, non-invasive cookies or technical storage items solely for:
- Remembering your selected base currency (e.g., USD, GBP, EUR, SAR, BDT, PKR).
- Remembering your chosen Nisab valuation benchmark (Silver vs. Gold).
- Serving halal-compliant, non-intrusive advertisements as described above.
- Collecting anonymized, aggregate traffic statistics (e.g. aggregate page views, browser type, general country of origin) to help us maintain website stability and prevent DDoS attacks.
5. External Links to Charities & External Portals
Our platform includes direct links to independent charitable organizations (e.g., Islamic Relief, Muslim Aid, Penny Appeal, etc.). Once you click an external link to donate or learn more, you are transferred to that entity's website. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, cookie policies, or content of those external domains. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
6. International Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA Compliance)
Because ZakatSimple does not require user accounts and does not store personal financial identities, we uphold the core tenets of international data regulations by design (Privacy by Design and by Default):
- European Union / UK (GDPR): Under Articles 15–22 of the GDPR, users have rights of access, rectification, erasure, and objection. Because we do not store personal profiles, there is no personal profile to disclose or delete. You hold full sovereignty over your local browser storage.
- California Residents (CCPA / CPRA): We do not sell, rent, or share personal financial information to third parties. We do not maintain records that associate financial balances with individual personal names.
- Children's Privacy (COPPA): ZakatSimple does not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13.
7. Updates to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect emerging technological developments, advertising network standards, or regulatory updates. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
